맨시티 결국 트레블 달성! 축구 역사상 최고 감독이 된 펩

맨체스터 시티가 129년 창단 최초로 UEFA 챔피언스리그 우승에 성공했습니다. 생각보다 힘든 경기를 했고 인터밀란을 상대로 1-0 승리를 거뒀습니다. 로드리의 날카로운 중거리 슈팅이 그대로 골망을 흔들었고 맨시티의 우승이 확정됐습니다. 이번 승리로 맨시티는 참 많은 역사를 썼습니다. 

일단 창단 첫 챔피언스리그 우승입니다. 맨시티는 지금까지 수많은 우승을 차지했지만 챔피언스리그 우승은 처음입니다. 2년 전 결승에 올랐지만 첼시에 패배한 뼈아픈 경험이 있는데 이번에는 그때의 실수를 반복하지 않고 우승에 성공했습니다. 

그리고 맨시티는 트레블에 성공했습니다. 잉글랜드 구단으로는 1998-99시즌 맨체스터 유나이티드 이후 24년 만입니다. 맨시티는 프리미어리그에서 아스날에 역전 우승을 차지했고, FA컵에서는 맨유를 꺾고 정상에 섰습니다. 그리고 챔피언스리그 우승까지 차지하며 트레블을 완성했습니다. 참고로 맨시티는 이번 시즌 챔피언스리그에서 8승 5무로 무패우승에 성공했습니다. 

펩 과르디올라 감독은 이번 트레블로 축구 역사상 최고의 감독이 됐습니다. 두 번이나 트레블에 성공했기 때문입니다. 과르디올라 감독은 2008-09시즌 바르셀로나에서 트레블에 성공했는데 14년 뒤 맨시티에서 두 번째 트레블에 성공했습니다. 이는 축구 역사상 최초의 일입니다.

우승 전문가 과르디올라 감독이지만 챔피언스리그 우승은 쉬운 일이 아닙니다. 이번 우승이 과르디올라 감독의 3번째 우승입니다. 트레블을 달성한 2008-09시즌, 2010-11시즌 그리고 이번 시즌까지 딱 3번 우승에 성공했습니다. 역대 최다 우승 감독은 카를로스 안첼로티 감독으로 4번 우승에 성공했습니다. 

많은 사람들은 이번 트레블로 과르디올라 감독이 알렉스 퍼거슨 감독을 넘어 섰다고 평가하고 있습니다. 단순히 봐도 과르디올라 감독은 두 번이나 트레블에 성공했습니다. 당시 맨유도 정말 강한 팀이었는데 지금 맨시티는 그보다 더 강한 느낌이 듭니다. 

과르디올라 감독은 바르셀로나에서 우승 14회, 바이에른 뮌헨에서 우승 7회 그리고 맨시티에서 우승 14회를 차지했습니다. 총 35번 우승입니다. 퍼거슨 감독은 48번 우승으로 감독 역사상 최다 우승 기록을 갖고 있습니다. 과르디올라 감독이 이 기록도 깨트릴 수 있을지 궁금하네요.

엘링 홀란드도 참 대단합니다. 이번 트레블에 많은 역할을 했습니다. 일단 프리미어리그에서 36골을 기록하며 득점왕을 차지했고, 챔피언스리그에서도 12골로 득점왕에 성공했습니다. FA컵에서는 3골로 비교적 골이 적지만 그래도 두 대회에서 득점왕과 함께 우승을 차지한 건 놀라운 일입니다. 물론 중요한 경기에서 침묵을 지킨 건 다소 아쉽게 느껴지기도 합니다.

이렇게 맨시티가 트레블을 달성하며 이번 시즌 유럽 축구가 모두 끝났습니다. 맨시티의 모습을 보면 앞으로가 더욱 무서운 팀이 될 것 같습니다. 펩 과르디올라 감독은 맨티시와 2년의 계약기간이 남아 있습니다. 펩시티가 앞으로 어떤 모습을 보여줄지 벌써부터 기대가 됩니다. 감사합니다.
