파리 생제르맹은 음바페가 갑자기 이런 행동을 하는 것 뒤에는 레알 마드리드와 사전 합의가 있다고 보고 있습니다. 즉, 음바페와 레알 마드리드와 미리 계약을 맺고 내년 여름 공짜로 합류하는 것을 약속했다는 것입니다. 파리 생제르맹은 음바페가 팀을 배신한 것이라고 믿고 있고 엄청나게 분노하고 있습니다.

일단 파리 생제르맹은 음바페를 일본-한국 프리시즌 투어 명단에서 제외시켰습니다. 지금 음바페가 프리시즌을 갈 때가 아니라 이적을 진행할 시기라는 뜻입니다. 파리 생제르맹은 음바페 영입에 1억 8,000만 유로(약 2,580억 원)를 투자했습니다. 이런 선수를 공짜로 보내는 건 말도 안 되는 일입니다. 파리 생제르맹은 이제는 어떤 팀이든 가장 비싼 제안을 하는 구단에게 음바페를 처분할 예정입니다.

처음에는 파리 생제르맹도 음바페를 붙잡을 생각이었습니다. 무려 10년 재계약을 제안했는데 연봉이 1억 유로(약 1,430억 원)나 됩니다. 10년이니까 10억 유로(약 1조 4,330억 원)입니다. 스포츠 역사상 최대 규모의 계약입니다. 하지만 음바페는 이 제안에 묵묵부답입니다. 음바페에게 중요한 건 돈이 아니기 때문입니다. 음바베는 이제 더 큰 무대에서 우승을 원하고 있습니다. 

상황이 이렇게 되자 벌써부터 음바페를 향한 제안들이 도착하고 있습니다. 사우디아라비아의 알 힐랄이 음바페 영입에 관심을 갖고 있습니다. 리오넬 메시 영입에 실패했던 알 힐랄은 이제 음바페 영입을 준비하고 있습니다. 알 힐랄은 무려 연봉 2억 유로(약 2,860억 원)를 제안하고 있습니다. 알 나스르의 크리스티아누 호날두와 같은 연봉입니다. 알 힐랄 외에도 맨체스터 유나이티드, 토트넘 홋스퍼, 첼시, 레알 마드리드가 음바페 영입을 희망하고 있습니다. 

음바페가 모든 걸 무시하고 파리 생제르맹에 1년 동안 남아 자유계약으로 팀을 옮기는 건 쉽지 않아 보입니다. 파리 생제르맹이 음바페를 계속해서 벤치에만 둘 수도 있고 마지막 시즌까지 팀에 남았을 경우 지급되는 보너스 금액도 지급할 수 없다는 이야기들이 쏟아지고 있습니다. 파리 생제르맹은 어떠한 경우에도 음바페를 공짜로 보낼 수 없다는 입장입니다. 

상황이 이렇게 진행되자 프랑스프로축구선수협회에서 우려의 목소리를 냈습니다. 프랑스프로축구선수협회는 “축구선수들도 다른 사람들과 마찬가지로 동일한 근무 조건을 누려야 한다. 근무 조건을 악화시키며 직원이 떠나도록 강요하거나 고용주가 원하는 것을 수락하게 하는 건 프랑스 법이 단호하게 비난하는 도덕적 괴롭힘에 해당한다. 음바페에게 이런 식으로 행동하는 구단에 대해서는 민형사상 조치를 취할 권리가 있다”고 발표했습니다.
