이 팀은 벤제마에게 엄청난 돈을 줄 예정입니다. 파브리지오 로마노 기자에 따르면 3년 동안 6억 4,300만 달러(약 8,400억 원)에 계약을 체결할 예정입니다. 이를 연봉으로 따지만 2억 1,400만 달러(약 2800억 원), 주급은 412만 달러(약 53억 원)를 벌게 된다는 뜻입니다. 이 정도라면 유럽에 있는 최정상급 선수들도 흔들릴 만한 제안입니다. 벤제마라면 유럽에서 이룰 것을 다 이뤘기 때문에 은퇴 전에 달달하게 큰 돈을 버는 사우디 이적도 좋은 선택 같습니다. 

이제 레알은 새로운 공격수가 필요합니다. 벤제마가 떠났으니 주전으로 뛸 수 있는 세계적인 수준의 공격수가 필요합니다. 여기서 등장하는 선수가 바로 해리 케인입니다. 케인은 내년 여름이면 토트넘과 계약이 만료됩니다. 즉, 토트넘이 케인을 팔아 많은 돈을 받을 수 있는 건 이번 여름이 마지막 기회입니다. 다니엘 레비 회장 같은 뛰어난 협상가라면 이번 여름에 케인을 처분할 가능성이 높습니다.

이 소식은 영국 공영방송 ‘BBC’에서도 보도했습니다. BBC는 “레알이 벤제마의 최우선 대체자로 케인을 원하고 있다. 케인은 계약기간이 1년 남았고 미래를 결정하지 못했다. 레알은 케인을 매우 긍정적으로 평가하고 있고 고연봉 선수들의 이탈이 케인 영입에 도움이 되길 희망하고 있다. 토트넘은 케인의 이적료로 1억 파운드 이상을 원하고 있다. 레알은 케인 외에도 빅터 오시멘, 라우라로 마르티네스, 카이 하베르츠, 두산 블라호비치도 리스트에 올렸다”고 보도했습니다.

케인은 어떤 팀에 가든 잘할 선수입니다. 토트넘에서도 이렇게 잘하고 있는데 레알의 화려한 선수들과 함께 뛴다면 더 많은 골과 도움을 기록할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 케인은 세계 최고의 공격수인데 안타깝게도 우승 커리어가 없습니다. 이번 이적이 우승이 가능한 빅클럽으로 갈 수 있는 사실상 마지막 이적으로 보입니다. 그게 세계 최고 구단 레알이라면 거부할 수 있는 선수는 거의 없을 것 같습니다.

사실 케인은 프리미어리그에 남아 앨런 시어러가 기록 중인 프리미어리그 최다골 도전을 이어가는 걸 선호했습니다. 하지만 이젠 개인 기록보다는 우승에 더 초점을 맞추고 이적을 고민하는 것으로 알려졌습니다. 토트넘도 같은 프리미어리그 구단보다는 해외 팀으로 케인을 보내는 걸 선호하고 있어 케인의 레알 이적 가능성은 꽤 높아 보입니다.

하지만 역시 문제는 돈입니다. 토트넘은 케인의 이적료로 1억 파운드(약 1,620억 원)를 원하고 있습니다. 계약기간이 1년 남은 선수인데 지나치게 많은 돈입니다. 이적료를 두고 다니엘 레비 회장과 플로렌티노 페레스 회장이 치열한 협상을 펼칠 것 같습니다.

The BBC is out! Real want Kane to fill Benzema vacancy!
